Bolts are a threaded fastener with a hexagonal shaped head, designed to be installed using a spanner. Hexagon Head Bolts are generally manufactured and supplied to DIN.931 and ISO.4014 specifications and they are available in many grades and finishes with some examples such as grade 8.8, 10.9, 12.9, Brass, A2 (304) and A4 (316) Stainless steel and finishes such as Electro Zinc Plated, Galvanised, Mechanical Coatings, etc.
Archerdale stock a wide range of bolts, which are ideal for many applications. Hexagon head bolts are usually partially threaded with the thread length being determined by the bolt diameter and length. These bolts are generally held in place by the compression forces created by an accompanying nut rather than by thread-to-thread contact with housing.
We also source and manufacture a variety of specialist variants including customer defined thread lengths, Drilled Heads and Drilled Threads for locking wires and split pins.
Fully Threaded Hexagon Bolts more commonly known as Setscrews as their name suggests, are Hexagon Head Bolts that are fully threaded up to the head This type of bolt is required when the shaft of a fastener is being inserted completely into a threaded hole. Fully Threaded Bolts are often used to securely fasten two threaded sections together. They are generally manufactured and supplied to DIN.933 and ISO.4017 specifications and are also available in many grades and finishes.
Both Bolts and Setscrews are available in a variety of threads from Standard Metric Coarse Thread, Metric Fine, to Imperial and Unified Threads.
